Fortress Clash Players

The Fortress Clash Players notebook · Free to use

Keep a deck experiment small enough to learn from

A free deck-testing brief that records a format, a hypothesis, and observations without promising a winning list.

Published October 15, 2026 · Programming Securely · Original exercise with illustrative examples

Choose the format before evaluating the deck

Read the rules and legality information for the format you intend to use. A card appearing in a catalog does not automatically mean it belongs in every format or that an older deck remains valid. Identify the current card set and build before comparing results. The player site’s cards, decks, formats, and how-to-play pages are the starting points for the actual game information.

Change one idea and predict an observation

Write what your deck is trying to do and the decision where it struggles. Choose a small change and say what you expect to see, such as a clearer opening choice. Keep that expectation separate from a balance claim. Without comparable tests, a single win or loss says little about whether a change helped. Record the opponent or scenario only at the level needed for your own analysis.

Retain the result and the limitation

After an authorized test, record the actual version, relevant sequence, and whether the original question was answered. If the format or card set changed, begin a new comparison rather than combining incompatible notes. This worksheet does not validate deck legality, access your account, create a deck, or simulate a match. It helps you plan what to observe in the current game.

Worked example

A small situation to try

Illustrative deck experiment: a player wants to understand why the first useful action is often unclear. They record the current format, keep a copy of the starting list, and change one slot only if the format permits it. They note the available opening choices in comparable practice situations instead of declaring the new list stronger after one result.

Your working notes

This worksheet does not send your writing to Fortress Clash Players, save it to an account, or store it in your browser. Notes are cleared when you leave or reload this page. Download a text copy if you want to keep them.

Record the versions and retain the original list separately.

Choose an observable decision rather than a guaranteed result.

State what stays the same and which decision you will observe.

Record what happened, the version, and unanswered questions.

What to do next

Use what you learned

  1. Check legality against the current format before changing a deck.
  2. Use the how-to-play and format pages to resolve rule questions before testing.
